Ashtha is located in the district Sehore. Know in earlier times as Siddhapur .Sehore was originality part of the Bhopal state and become an independent district in 1972.
The weaving community in Ashtha is mainly Momin and kohli, traditionally weaving cotton materials used mainly for pagri, Safa (traditional head wear). Over time, weavers took on weaving gauge bandages, woolen shawls, bed spreads, upholstery materials tericot suiting, rugs. Bed sheets use a 20s-40s count cotton yarn.500 looms ply engaging 1500 weavers of which 627 are women.
